Call for Abstracts: MSA WG Family Memory and Intergenerational Exchange at MSA Annual Conference July 2024, Lima, Peru

We are happy to share with you our call for papers for one or two sessions organized by the Memory Studies Association (MSA) Working Group (WG) Family Memory and Intergenerational Exchange during the 8th Annual Conference of MSA, taking place from 18-20 July 2024 in Lima, Peru.

Please note that the conference will be held in person only.

The overarching theme of the conference is “Memories in Transit,” and we kindly invite all interested scholars to submit their abstracts (200-250 words) along with short bios to us. Subsequently, one or two sessions specifically dedicated to family memory, featuring four participants and a chair per session, will be submitted as a cohesive proposal to the Congress organizers.

We extend a warm welcome to contributions focused on, but not limited
to, the following areas:

1) Family memory and mobility, migration, and refugees
2) Family memory and public policies of memory
3) Family memories, conflicts, violence and war
4) Family memories, politics and populism
5) Family memories and digital space (social networks)
6) Family memories, senses, embodiment, and the environment
7) Family memory, gender and diverse belongings

The deadline for WG submissions is Friday, 12th January 2024.
